Visit to Holland

Back in Holland for five weeks! I had planned this visit shortly after stopping with work in June 2020 but then the COVID pandemic caused cancelation. But now it was a good moment. I arrived yesterday and my "home base" these weeks is a small guest suite in the apartment building where my sister Hanneke lives. This morning I bought some seasonal flowers for her as thanks for the arrangement. Han is a very artful person......; see where she placed the flowers....

In front of the apartment building, they have each Thursday a typical fresh fish stall. Opa Vandenboom would LOVE this. Other weekdays there is a fresh bakery cart or fresh vegetable stalls. And that in front of a very large supermarket + a very good Chinese restaurant. Han has it all here....
The suite is a simple but comfortable "home away from home" for these weeks.....
Busy now making appointments to meet other family members and a variety of old friends from high school and university, as well as a few former colleagues from work at Fokker Aircraft and Doctors without Borders Holland. I will make new posts every now and then during the coming weeks...
