Under-water welding

Today we hosted a group of educators from Barbados as part of a two week training program they follow at nearby Durham College. At the King Campus we showed them our relatively unique under-water skills/welding program (one year certificate program), but first they had to endure a variety of presentations.....
The lab/practice area for the underwater welding area is used for the training of people who become welders for oil companies and the like. This program is not for everybody; they start each year with 50 trainees/students of whom only about 30 reach the completion of the program.
The hole in the pool goes 40 meters deep. You would not get me in there for a million dollars!

Early Spring?

This past Saturday we had a beautiful warm Spring-like day. We went for a walk at Merritt Island which is part of the Welland Canals trails. Just such a nice scenery right in our backyard....
