I have to pinch myself about this: Mark and Carly will get married later this week. Mary is busy helping them out getting ready for what they want to be a nice relaxed long weekend in three rented cottages in Prince Edward County from Thursday to Sunday. Just family and a few close friends; total of 30. In today's economy big weddings are just crazy expensive. Mark made Mary and me a nice home-cooked meal last weekend. He is a good kid!
Shayd turns 40 today and they are celebrating with a long weekend in Montreal in combination with the wedding of Mark & Carly later this week. How did our kids suddenly turn into these adults...?
I just visited Fred, a friend from the Rotary who turned 98 recently. He is still in amazing shape driving his own car up till last month when he fell. Now needing medical attention, his mind is still sharp as one could wish for at his age. He has been a role model for graceful and cheerful aging. Staying active and engaged seems to have been his secret. A good and humble human being; best volunteer ever!
