A friend of Hanneke is letting me use one of her old bikes. It was originally a bicycle for a local police person. Her father purchased it once the police force auctioned old equipment. This bike has more years than I have....
Only one gear and the brake is the backpedal move. Today was a rainy day, so I only did a bit of cycling in the town of Soest (population about 16,000). During a better weather day, I will bike to Bilthoven which is the nearby town where I grew up. About 7 kilometers from Soest. I will have a dinner there on November 4 with four classmates from high school (1968 - 1974). Have not seen them since 2004, the year my mother passed away. One of them I have not seen since 1974 - 48 years ago....
